God Said "Let There Be" and So It Was

There are 2 different creation theories, one is a young earth and the other is an old earth theory.  I have looked into both and I tend to lean more towards the young earth view.  I will lay that argument out here, but will say that I do respect the old earth view as well.  My biggest issue with the old earth view has to do with death.  There would have had to be death before the fall, which taking scripture at it's word, death came after the fall, so to me it loses traction there.  I won't go into detail on that view here but I definitely do recognize that it may answer some questions you might have.  Hugh Ross is a very good old earth creation Christian teacher you may want to look into.  It very much is a Christian view that holds a lot more weight than the theory of evolution.  There are way too many holes in the evolution theory, and hard to believe that with as many holes that it has it is still held highly and taught in the educational system.  I will lay out some of the issues with evolution throughout this section. 

The young earth creation theory is the view that earth is around 6,000 - 10,000 years old, and that it was created in six 24 hour days.  The 1st thing God created was light, He separated it from the darkness and called it evening and morning, the 1st day.  Some may ask that since the sun and moon had not been created yet, how can we say that it is a 24 hour day as we know it today?  The answer to that is simple, our 24 hour day refers more to how fast the earth spins fully around on it's axis.  So if He created light in one place then it would take a little over 24 hours for earth to spin fully around, which is why it says, 'So the evening and the morning were the 1st day.'  Just from the divide of light and darkness He creates time for His creation.  It is very specific in the time frame it is referring to and the number of days He used for all of creation.  Many argue that the word used for day (Hebrew - 'yom') can be used for periods of time as well as days.  I agree with that except everywhere the word is used in the Bible referring to a number; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 1, 7, 10, etc., it is referring to a 24 hour day.  So instead of wrestling with the magnitude of how impossible that would be in my finite mind, I must recognize I am learning about an infinite God, that in reality He could have created or destroyed anything and everything at His word, in whatever amount of time He desired.  He chose to do it like this and lay it out briefly in the 1st chapter of the 1st book in the Bible.  Obviously with the brief description in Genesis 1 and even with some of the details He gives in in chapter 2, there will be many questions on how He did it.  Ultimately when it comes down to it, you will need faith rather you believe in young earth, old earth, or evolution because we just do not have all the answers, nor would we be able to comprehend the depths of the Almighty God and what He is capable of.  Here are some facts that hopefully can show the possibility of a young earth creation, just as the Bible lays out, as well as show that 'chance' would be more of an act of faith than believing that there is a Designer / Creator.  

• (Isaiah 40:22) It is He who sits above the circle of the earth...
• (Job 26:10) He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, at the boundary of light and darkness.
• Isaiah written in 720 - 698 b.c. and Job around 2000 b.c.
• Secular world claimed round earth by Pythagoras (750 - 500 b.c.), Aristotle (384 - 322 b.c.)

• (Job 26:7) ...He hangs the earth on nothing.
• Early Greek (800 - 900 b.c.) Experts taught that the earth was a flat disc floating on water.
• Now we know Job was correct over 1000 years before that.

• (Isaiah 40:22) ...Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain...
• Late 1920's the Hubble law confirms this
• The 'big bang theory' came about in the 1930's to try to explain the expanding universe outside of God.  It didn't have to start at a point, God made it big and making it bigger.

• (Genesis 2:2) And on the 7th day God ended His work which He had done...
• (John 1:3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
• (Colossians 1:17) And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist
• No new material & material continues to exist
• Secular scientists rediscovered the conservation of energy in the 1800's

In the past, whenever the experts of the day have disagreed with the Bible, the Bible has always turned out to be right!  The same thing will happen with the secular "experts" today. 

• Excess internal heat - Jupiter loses twice as much heat as it receives from the sun, it cannot last billions of years, it would be an ice cycle by now.
• Neptune gives off 2.7 times more heat than it takes in
• Earth's magnetic field is running down and decaying.  If you run it backwards a few thousand years it would have been a bit stronger than it is today, but billions of years then it would pull the iron out of your blood and life would be impossible.
• Uranis and Neptune's magnetic field shows a decay of 6,000 years by science, they say it has a way to recharge, maybe it's just 6,000 years old.
• The moon is moving away from the earth at a rate of 1.5" per year.  If you run it backwards 6,000 years it would be back about 730 feet, not a big deal.  Run it back billions of years you would have a problem, at about 1.4 - 1.5 billion years the earth and the moon would be in the same place.  Secularists believe earth is 4.5 billion years old.
• Comets are made of icy material which lasts no longer than 100,000 years due to the sun destroying it as it gets closer to it.  If 4.5 billion years old then why are there still comets?
• Spiral galaxies wind themselves up spinning faster in the center and slower as it goes outward, winding itself up.  In 6,000 years it hasn't fully rotated around once yet, but if they were billions of years old computer generated models have them unrecognizable and all wound up.  After 1 billion years there wouldn't be spiral arms, and 10 billion, it doesn't work.
• Blue stars, the most massive luminous stars out there, give out their energy so quick that they can't last very long.  The hottest and brightest stars can't live more than a million years, yet we see them all over the universe.  Secularists know this and claim new ones form, yet no one has ever seen a new one form.

• (Isaiah 45:18) For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the Lord, and there is no other."
• Science confirms that the earth is unique among the worlds of the cosmos.
• The earth is specially designed for life!
• If it was all by chance then one would expect life to pop up in other places, if it was just about chemistry and chance.
• The universe is designed to bring God glory but not designed for life, just earth.
• The Fermi Paradox - "Where are the aliens!"  Why don't we find life or signs of older colonized life out there?  They're not there!

• The time it would take for the light of the stars and galaxies to reach earth
• They are billions of light years away so if the earth is only 6,000 years old then how do we see them yet?  1 light year is about 6 trillion miles
• Billions of light years in size means it's really big, not really old.  

• Since God is the creator and we are continually learning about Him and His ways, as we always will be, He has solutions we haven't yet or never will be able to know.  He is not bound by the laws of nature as we are.
• Time can flow at different rates at different circumstances, Einstein discovered that.  Clocks on earth tick slower than clocks in the universe.  This is a possibility but math hasn't worked it out.
• A better possibility is to consider the speed of light is faster going one way than the other.  We assume it travels at the same rate both ways, but we don't actually know that.  Maybe it takes no time to get here and the calculated rate to go back:  

• Certain crystals do that, where the speed of light is faster one way than the other, the vacuum of space could be like that.
• If instantaneous to earth then that's all it has to do, a one-way trip, it doesn't have to go back.
• There is no way to measure a one-way speed of light
• The one-way speed of light is a convention (something we say it is and agree to it), it's not a property of nature.  
• Einstein knew the one-way speed of light could not be measured but something you choose.

• ASC - Anisotropic Synchrony Convention:

• The speed of light is infinite when directed toward earth and 1/2 c when moving directly away.
• This solves the distant starlight problem as well as the definition used by all ancient cultures.
• Using the ASC convention, light takes no time at all to get from distant galaxies to here.
• (Genesis 1) God said, and it was so!

• Light reaches the observer at no time at all.  This works and no one has been able to refute it.

• 1 set from mom and 1 set from dad
• Evolution is all about an increase in DNA content, without that there is no evolution.  We never see an increase in DNA but only decreases and mutations.
• Bacteria DNA cannot produce something more than it is; arms, legs, etc.

• Natural selection is a creation term or view, when studied content/DNA stays neutral or is negative, or loses.  Darwin used it because if he can show natural selection then people will buy evolution.
• Natural selection is about the loss of information, not new information.  i.e., dogs with long and short hair genes have pups with both, it gets cold and the short furred pups die, eventually they lose the short fur gene.  
• Natural selection is opposite of the evolutionary view.

• Mutations, an evolutionist says lead to evolution with natural selection, a typo in DNA.
• Dogs have huge amounts of mutations that prevent them from living in the wild anymore, but they're still dogs, not evolved into anything else.
• Mutations remove instructions faster than natural selection, no DNA was added.
• A dog can't turn into a cat
• Bacteria always produces bacteria
• Not even 1 mutation has new info

• Information always entails:

• A symbolic code system
• Language
• Meaning (action & purpose)

• Laws of nature for information:

• Information cannot generate spontaneously in matter, information comes from a mind.  Intelligence. 

• DNA comes from God!

• Age is not a substance that can be measured.  Rocks made of radioactive atoms can spontaneously change.  Uranium 238 to lead 206, once lead is stable.
• It would take billions of years for uranium to turn into lead, how do you know it was all uranium to begin with?  Even secularists don't claim to believe they started with all uranium, they conclude there was lead in them to begin with.
• How do we know how much to begin with?  Once you decide how old you want it to be, then decide how much to start with.
• Evolutionists don't have a clue how much to start with, if they started with 0 then they'd get a much older date than they want.
• All are assumptions with radioactive dating:

• Initial conditions unknown
• Decay rate is constant
• System is closed

• Radioactive dating does not work, it's been used on rocks the age was known on and it has been wrong.
• Rocks from Mt. St. Helen, new rocks just hardened, came back 100's of thousands and millions of years old.  It's known to be a few years old, sometimes it can even get a negative age.

• Better than radioactive dating
• C14 decays, turns into oxygen, you can see the date by seeing the C12 and the decay of C14 to see how long ago it died.  If it's too old then the C14 would be gone and it could not be dated.
• Carbon dating never gives millions or billions of years
• It can date dinosaur fossils if enough carbon is in them
• Dinosaur bones were tested in secular labs without knowing what they were and they got 1000's of years old, not millions, or billions.  None came back without C14 in them, which is what would be expected if they were millions or billions years old.
• There is C14 in diamonds, which wouldn't be if they were millions of years old.

• This is the process of dating the earth by the rate the salt goes into the ocean.
• If traced back to NO salt the oldest oceans would be is 62 million years old, which is way younger than evolutionists say it is (13.8 billion years old for the universe and 4 billion years old for the earth).
• It probably started with a lot of salt in them, making them much much younger.  Evolution ages the earth at 4 billion years old, but max it could be is 62 million years old if the oceans started with no salt.

• It takes less than 12 million years if you were dating the earth that way if it started with no mud.
• Noah's flood would have dumped mud at a much higher rate.

• Evolutionists date human beings around 1 million years old
• Doing the math based off our population today, the world could have been populated within a few thousand years, which is about how long it's been since the flood (about 4500 years).

• Ichthyosaur - a marine animal, shows it was fossilized while giving birth, normally we don't fossilize but it can happen quickly.
• When an animal dies it decays
• To fossilize it has to be buried quickly.  If not it decays back into the earth.  So burying a little at a time over millions of years wouldn't happen, it would decay, to fossilize it would have to be buried quickly.
• You don't see many fish dead on the ocean floor waiting to be buried and fossilized, they float to the top and decay or are eaten.
• The rapid burial of animals all over the world could have easily been done by the flood, a worldwide flood would lead to fossils all over the world.
• Land animals and marine organisms are shown fossilized together, seen small dinosaurs next to fish.  That's not the exception but more of the rule of found fossils mixed together.

• It does not take millions of years for mud to form into rock
• We see car keys formed in rock, no keys around "millions" of years ago.  Just the right chemistry in the right conditions.
• Mt. St. Helen eruptions show huge a rock wall not there before the 1980's
• There are trees covered with no roots.  Flood, catastrophic conditions, Mt. St. Helen uprooted trees into oceans, petrified vertically and buried

Exodus 20:11 says, 'In six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.'

The Bible gives us a birth certificate for the earth.  God's Word is Truth!

Fossils are a reminder that God judges sin, to remind us to repent.  The ark was a type of salvation.  The redemption of sin and death, it showed us what Christ would fulfill.  God shut the ark door, mercy was over and judgement would begin.  Now God has given us mercy, a way of redemption through Jesus Christ, but a day will come when He will judge the living and the dead.  Those covered by His blood will be delivered and take no part in the second death.

Hopefully this helps to know that there are others views that are reliable as well as scientific other than the world view.  The world view of evolution claims to be scientific, but there are many holes and false claims that leave them with great faith in nothing.  Be aware of the other views out here because when it comes down to it your choices are that you either came from nothing, or a loving God that created you in His image did it for a purpose. He has a plan for you, it starts here and now and goes for all of eternity. 

Rather you believe in the young earth creation, old earth creation, big bang creation / evolution overseen by God the Creator, know there is a God and He loves you.  His desire is for you to know Him and His Son that He gave for you.  That if you believe in Him and put your trust in Him that you will not perish but have everlasting life.
